Description:
Between 2010 and 2013 Transnet Freight Rail placed seventy-six Class 15E 50 kV AC 50 Hz heavy electric freight locomotives with a Co-Co wheel arrangement in service on the Sishen–Saldanha iron ore line, numbered in the range from 15-001 to 15-076. The locomotive is the product of a joint venture by Mitsui (design), Toshiba (electrical components), DCD-Dorbyl’s RSD division (monoblock cast frame, bolster bogies and drawgear), and Union Carriage and Wagon (bodies and assembly).

Description:
There are two of these footbridges across the two outbound lines in the departure yard, built at the spots where the locomotive consists of the second and third train sections will be located when they are coupled to the first section, so as to enable crews to cross the lines safely to where their minibus transport will pick them up after coupling up.
