Description:
Originally built by Alco-Brooks as USRA heavyweight Mikado SM&StP #8636, it was renumbered in 1938 to MILW 342. The loco was retired in April of 1953 after nearly 35 years of service.. Specs - L3 class, 63" drivers, 200 psi boiler pressure, 27x32" cylinders, engine wt of 320,000 lb and tractive effort of 62,949 lb. This is an Edwin Wilson photo. No exact month or day in 1953 was given for the photo so an approximate was ysed.
