This 1908 Alco-Manchester J-1e class locomotive had high stepping 79" drivers and could generate a boiler pressure of 200 pis to feed to its 19"x28" cylinders. The last of this hard working class was retired by 1952. No photographer identified and the specific day in 1937 is an approximation.
